Beyond 2031
Looking beyond 2031, Washington, DC will serve as a national model for urban equity where housing, clean energy, and transit are treated as permanent human rights rather than commodities. My plan builds a District that is resilient, affordable, and built to last.
The Plan
- Lock in permanent energy sovereignty by decoupling the city from monopolistic utility structures through high renewable generation capacity for the entire District.
- Institutionalize sustainable urban finance by fully implementing the Land Value Tax citywide to reinvest urban growth value directly back into neighborhoods.
- Ensure multi-generational community stability by utilizing permanent public control of land so that teachers, artists, and working-class families remain long-term residents.
- Evolve the OneDC framework into a fully integrated resident profile system that anticipates family needs before they become crises.
- Maintain the Zero-Fare transit model as a permanent, baseline fixture of the District's public infrastructure.
